Set up product types, variants with different prices, and modifiers for add-ons.
Product types define customization groups — for example, "Size" for a pizza or "Base" for a salad. Navigate to "Product Types" and click "New Product Type". Give it a name and an optional description. Product types act as containers for variants.
Common product types include: Size (Small/Medium/Large), Base (Regular/Wholemeal), Temperature (Hot/Iced), Spice Level (Mild/Medium/Hot).
Go to "Variants" and create the options within each product type. For example, under the "Size" product type, create variants like "Small", "Medium", and "Large". Each variant can have a different price adjustment — for example, "Large" might add 2.00 to the base price. Set variant prices per product in the "Variant Prices" section.
Variant prices are set per product, so a "Large" pizza can cost more than a "Large" salad. Navigate to any product and click "Variant Prices" to configure.
Modifiers are optional add-ons customers can select — like "Extra cheese", "Add bacon", or "Gluten-free bun". Navigate to "Modifiers" in the sidebar, click "New Modifier", and set the name and price adjustment. You can group modifiers under product types for better organization.
Modifiers increase average order value. Popular modifiers include extra toppings, side upgrades, and dietary substitutions.
After creating product types, variants, and modifiers, link them to your products. Edit any product and scroll to the "Customization" section. Select which product types apply to this product. Customers will see these options when adding the product to their cart.
